UV/IR Flame Detector - Model 3986

The model 3986 UV/IR flame detector is designed to detect unwanted fires and output appropriate alarm information. The model 3986 senses ultraviolet radiation and infrared radiation in the appropriate wavelengths for very early fire detection. Using the patented Fire Event Analysis (FEA) algorithm, it is also able to distinguish between real fire and non-fire events providing superior false alarm immunity. The technology has proven itself over decades of reliable service.

The model 3986 is available in two versions, one for hydrocarbon fires only, and one for hydrocarbon and certain non-hydrocarbon fires. This dual capability provides the unique capability of providing fire detection for a broad range of fuels with a single unit. Both versions are available with an automatic self-test function to monitor the detector’s ability to sense fires and report a fault condition when impaired.

Multi-IR Flame Detector - Model 3976

Our most advanced model, the 3976 multi-spectrum infrared (IR) flame detector is designed to detect unwanted fires and output appropriate alarm information. In a breakthrough technological advance, the model 3976 senses infrared radiation in up-to-five discreet infrared wavelengths for early fire detection.

The multi-spectrum sensor information, combined with the sophisticated algorithm, enables the model 3976 the ability to quickly detect hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon fueled fires. The model 3976 also features an automatic self-test function to monitor the detector’s ability to sense fires and report a fault condition when impaired.

UV Flame Detector - Model 3966

The model 3966 UV flame detector is designed to detect unwanted fires and output appropriate alarm information. The model 3966 senses ultraviolet radiation in the appropriate wavelength for extremely fast fire detection. The model 3966 will sense both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon fires, a technology which has proven itself over decades of reliable service.

The model 3966 is available in two versions, one for standard industrial applications where a maximum operating temperature of 85°C is the norm, and a second High-Temp version which is capable of operating at a maximum sustained temperature of 125°C.

The High-Temp version is especially well suited for turbine enclosure and high-temperature industrial applications. Both versions are available with an automatic self-test function to monitor the detector’s ability to sense fires and report a fault condition when impaired.

UV/IR Wet Bench Flame Detector 3200/3300

The 3200/3300 Series flame detector utilizes proven, stable ultraviolet and infrared technology to continuously monitor for flames in wet bench and commercial applications. It is an ideal solution for use in areas where short line of sight is a factor. Due to its compact size, it is also used for installation in certain production equipment.

The standard 3200/3300 module has a sealed polypropylene housing designed for protection from a wide variety of acids and solvents. The detector is rated over a wide operating temperature range for those applications where drying or heating elements are used or elevated temperatures may be experienced. Both models can easily adapt to most standard fire extinguishing systems and wet bench systems. In addition, 3200/3300 modules use state-of-the-art microprocessor controlled fire algorithms to recognize different types of flame signatures while rejecting common false alarms.

The UV/IR Flame Detector 3200/3300 is approved and certified by a variety of third party agencies, including FM and CSFM. These approvals and certifications assure our customers that we carry only the highest quality of products and performance.

UV/IR/Vis Industrial Flame Detector 3100

The 3100 Series flame detector utilizes a tri-spectra design (ultraviolet, infrared, and visible light spectrums) to provide continuous and reliable flame detection. Flame detectors incorporating just infrared or UV can experience false alarms from external sources not related to fire. With the tri-spectra design, the 3100 provides enhanced false alarm rejection.

The 3100 Series’ tri-spectra design provides the ability to detect flames from both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon sources, making it the ideal product for a typical chemical/petrochemical plant where the flame source could be generated from a variety of gases. In addition, the 3100 is the only flame detector model that provides RS-232 access to pre-fire spectral data and diagnostic information. Self-diagnostic features of the microprocessor continuously perform system tests, watching for any faults which would impair its ability to accurately detect a flame and declare an alarm. All faults are recorded in non-volatile memory and may be retrieved at any time by an operator.
